The Forgotten Coast

St. George Island

After coming over the St. George Island bridge, you'll slide down into the heart of the village. Because St. George Island is remote, there’s almost a sense of family here. Visitors aren’t attracted by beachfront communities packed wall to wall with towering hotels and rows of chain restaurants. Instead, they choose to see St. George Island because there's a natural sense of privacy and a clear sense of nature.

With Apalachicola Bay to the north and the Gulf of Mexico to the south, an Old Florida feeling, usually found in small markets, independent restaurants and the lodgings found mostly in rental homes, prevails. Once you cross the St. George Island bridge, you’ll arrive and feel as if you’re already home.

Forgotten Coast Communities

St. George Island is the area’s premier beach destination and is home to one of America’s Top Ten beaches.

Explore Apalachicola’s extensive history, discover unique boutiques and art galleries.

In Eastpoint enjoy fresh Apalachicola Bay seafood in area restaurants and watch fishing boats unload their catch along an authentic working waterfront.

In Carrabelle, play golf on a championship course, plan an unforgettable fishing trip or visit a museum.

Nature enthusiasts flock to Alligator Point beaches for bird watching and seclusion.
